Like I said, you are entitled to an opinion, but the fact that you think tearing apart a Black woman's work proves my point, PhD or not. And it certainly isn't "garbage." Anyway, your assumptions about me are completely wrong, which is not surprising, but I'm not trying to insult you, I'm trying to point out that you get things wrong from time to time, we ALL do. You clearly do not understand all the complications of what this author posted about. Just start with your assumption I am an "educated" liberal. Yes, I am "educated" but not at an Ivy League school. I do not have a college education. I've educated myself and suggest you do the same. And no, I am not from California. I grew up in a very rural part of the country in a very small town so, you were also incorrect on that one. THIS is what actually keeps the divide, the arrogance and assumptions and stereotypes that have nothing to do with reality. As far as white guilt goes, I don't have guilt or white savior complex, but I do feel a responsibility to call-in my "white" brothers and sisters so that we stop asking BIPOC to do the work we should be doing. Racism exists, its not BIPOC's issue to fix as it was completely invented by "white" people and continues to this day. I can argue with you until I'm blue in the face and give you facts and data to back up my arguments, but the truth is, until you acknowledge you may not have this correct, you will not hear anything anyone else has to say, You will ignore the disparities with regards to health, income, education, etc. Its staggering when you look at the facts. Sorry you continue to allow your incorrect assumptions inform you. And yes, poor whites have suffered, and greatly. The only difference is, the reason they have suffered has never been because of the color of their skin. Our BIPOC brothers and sisters cannot say the same.
